The first trick was subtle, the oligarchy
Had replaced the good parts of our democracy, with a lobby
Transparent participation and equality,
Became empty phrases obfuscating authority for the majority of the people
The next trick was shoving up all of the blame
Up those people’s asses who ticked off their name on a ballot
A flicker of hope came with more female rights
But 3rdwavers spindrift’s suspiciously white
Surfing waves of middle class privilege
In a system designed by the plutocracy
To perpetuate fairy tale equality
The best trick they pulled was to make us believe
That they are the aces we got up our sleeve
They’re not the solution, they’re DemoBetrayal
The lobbies are thriving, decisions are made; the poor have stopped caring who fucks up their fate
The reports get censored, the armies deployed, by fat cats too rich to care whom they destroyed
Majority cheated, the guilty at large
The democracy feels more like a demo-charge – about to blow up.
